In RECYCLED ICONS, faces are extracted from the archives of fashion, film, and popular culture and given a new life on canvas.
Twiggy’s graphic gaze. Mary Pickford, Hollywood’s first star. Edie Sedgwick, just as Warhol made her part of his universe. The references are recognizable, but never quite as they were: shifted, recycled, detached from their original function.
The series moves between the Vogue portrait, cinematic iconography, and the legacy of Warhol and Alex Katz. The faces still bear traces of their history, but now tell a new one.

The series Recycled Icons investigates how femininity, style, and presence can be reclaimed as distinct languages. Reuse functions as a silent form of resistance: a way to reclaim ownership of the image. Beneath the controlled surface lies a quiet rebellion – a desire to let the icon exist for its own sake, representing no one but itself.
