From artist life to entrepreneurial journey

Edvarda Braanaas has lived a whole life in art. Growing up in a bohemian home filled with literature, music, and strong personalities, she quickly found her expression in drawing and colors. Today, she has taken the step from an artist's life to an entrepreneurial journey – from the studio to Edvarda.store – where she bridges creative art and entrepreneurship.

Classic art-historical background

Edvarda studied graphics and drawing in Venice, and completed four years of painting at the National Academy of Fine Arts (now part of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts). In addition, she specialized in art history at the University of Oslo and studied art pedagogy. This solid academic background forms the basis for an artistry where tradition and contemporary art meet.

For over 20 years, she communicated contemporary art at the Astrup Fearnley Museum and the Munch Museum. In parallel, she developed her own expression, which today embraces both classical references and modern impulses.

Edvarda has exhibited both in Norway and internationally, and has been featured in the media for more than 25 years.

The Frieze of Life

In mid-life, Edvarda made a radical choice: she invested her inheritance and moved to Los Angeles. Edvarda longed for a larger world that could accommodate her vision. There, she created her signature work – a 60-meter-long frieze of life that mirrors the cities she has lived in and the life stages she has experienced. The work was partially exhibited at the LA Art Show in 2016 and marks her as an artist with an international perspective and a rare ability to uncompromisingly pursue her vision.

Edvarda.Store

In 2019, she returned to Norway. When the pandemic hit, she started Edvarda.store – an online gallery connecting artists and the public directly, without intermediaries. Here, you'll find colorful, figurative prints in limited editions on handmade cotton paper. Each work tells a story, giving you the opportunity to experience the artist's universe before taking it home.
