"Say a prayer for the cowgirl" is a portrait of the modern cowgirl – a woman who moves through an open landscape with a serenity that belongs only to those who have found their own way.
The motif is inspired by the classic Western tradition, but redefined through a feminine and contemporary gaze. Monument Valley's red earth and iconic formations create a scenery that is both mythical and present. The woman in the foreground – with her hat pulled down and her face partly hidden – is not fleeing. She is on her way.
In the Dandizette universe, she represents the freedom to choose her own horizons, and the courage to ride towards them – alone, on her own terms.
