More about this artwork

The work continues Edvarda’s interest in the subway as a cultural space, but turns its focus toward the friendship between two young women – their style, self-awareness, and the need to express who they are.

References to 70s fashion, color palettes, and magazine aesthetics give the image a distinct fashion expression, while the body language adds a more human and psychological undertone. There is both self-assurance and a certain uncertainty in the encounter between the two – as if they are on their way somewhere, both physically and in life.

A work about friendship, identity, fashion, and femininity, seen through Edvarda’s characteristic meeting of pop culture, color, and narrative. The women in the Dandizette collection are immodest in their individuality and strength. They embrace passionate lives, express themselves through personal style, and a conscious celebration of life's pleasures. With an effortless self-assurance, they redefine femininity. The Dandizettes mark their presence with charm and nonchalant elegance, showing that true strength lies in the freedom to live authentically, on one's own terms.
