Little Drummer Girl takes its starting point in the visual culture of the 1970s, with references to pop art, fashion, and film. The title draws a literary connection to John le Carré’s spy universe, adding an underlying reference to identity, roles, and the act of moving between different realities.
The work can also be read as a tribute to female independence, energy, and curiosity – to a generation of women who increasingly claimed space in the public sphere and defined their own roles.
