The motif is based on a still from Andy Warhol's film Kitchen, which Edvarda has reworked with her own associations and characters. The scene takes place in a kitchen corner where a group of people are gathered for a party.
The dense composition draws the viewer in close to the events and creates a sense of presence and unease. Multiple perspectives are put together in a way that reflects the crooked, the slightly absurd and the decadent. Here the atmosphere vibrates with both excess and play with gender identity—a kind of modern tableau vivant in an everyday, but charged space.
