Beyond the polished facade of Oslo, another performance unfolds. Inspired by the darker undercurrents of opera and ballet, The Other Opera explores the quiet tension between beauty and unease, elegance and desire — the stories that exist just beneath the surface.

Beyond the bright facade, another performance is unfolding.
Two elegantly dressed figures make their way towards the Opera House, seemingly untouched by the quiet dramas taking place around them. Along the waterfront, fragments of other lives emerge — moments of intimacy, desire, tension and unease. A floating sauna becomes an unexpected stage, blurring the boundaries between Oslo’s polished cultural world and its more spontaneous, restless side.
The Opera House stands as an image of beauty, culture and control. Yet beneath its glass and marble, another kind of drama is always present — one without an audience, a script or a clear beginning.
Inspired by the darker undercurrents of opera and ballet, The Other Opera explores the distance between appearance and what lies beneath it. The elegance of the scene becomes a kind of disguise; the city itself a stage on which everyone carries a story that remains only partly visible.
This is the real opera
