Inspired by the french baroque painter Georges de la Tour’s (1593 – 1652) theatrical gestures and gazes, Edvarda reflects a postmodern condition where we continuously stage ourselves. The fortunetellers suggests a power dynamic between the characters, playing on enigmatic undertones: What happens when the robbery is done, who is truly deceiving whom?
